Grow Speke

Grow Speke is a community garden in South Liverpool, delivered in partnership with South Liverpool Homes, Groundwork, Merseyside Police and Blackburne House. Accessed by local people of all ages, including schools and youth groups, the space is used to host healthy, outdoor activities, where young people can develop their gardening knowledge and skills.

What we did

Designed the brand identity
Designed the bespoke Art Nouveau inspired gates that bookend the site
Gate engineering by Tommy Knox, Bespoke glass by Definitive 1
Designed and built the marketing materials
Design and built the parent website

The gates are made from Cor-Ten Steel, which over time reacts to the weather, and produces a beautiful layer of protective rust.

The bespoke glass discs sparkle when the sun hits them.

The swirling cut out shapes cast beautiful shadows on surrounding walls and the ground at different times of day.
