A Brand with Backbone: Liverpool Civil Law’s New Identity

Some projects are about polish, whilst others are about what makes them… them.

Liverpool Civil Law came to us with a simple brief – they wanted a brand that does justice to who they are today: experienced, respected, and right at the heart of Liverpool’s business district. There was no need for any fluff or legal jargon, just simply a strong and confident identity that reflects the people behind it.

We started from the ground up by designing a complete brand overhaul that balanced their traditional identity with a fresh, modern edge. The new look carries weight where it needs to, the sort of identity that doesn’t need to shout to be heard.

To bring it to life, we worked with photographer Rob Battersby, whose portraits and drone shots captured both the people and the place that make Liverpool Civil Law what it is. Resulting in a set of images that demonstrate that power and pride, just like the chambers themselves.

From there, we built a website that’s clean and full of personality; putting their barristers and areas of expertise front and centre, with imagery and design that give the firm a real presence online.

What’s key for us at Nonconform, is that this isn’t a one-off job. We continue to work with the team as they roll out their new brand collateral, keeping that same consistency across everything from stationery to digital assets.

Great design isn’t just about how it looks, but what it says. And this one says:
