Client name

Liverpool City Council

Project

To create exclusive branding to distinguish the six heritage sites in Liverpool.

Objectives

We wanted to create distinctive & flexible branding for Liverpool World Heritage City. We developed a bespoke typographic identity, and an uppercase typeface, which is elegant yet established. We also designed a set of illuminated letters. Each letter is associated with the six World Heritage sites around Liverpool, for example the letter A is for Albert Dock, and is filled with details of iconic historic & modern buildings in that area. The identity has to work comfortably with existing identities UNESCO & Liverpool  – Maritime Mercantile City.

Outcomes

The branding will now roll out across the city & companies are being asked to display World Heritage Site branding, to get out the message that they are located in a World Heritage city. The six historic areas of the city will have their own bespoke sign, which features the correct illuminated letter for the particular.
