'Getting Out There'

One of the key areas we think distinguishes us from other agencies is our willingness to get out there, get down and dirty with our Clients. And earlier this month, that’s just what we did …. this time with Stafford and Rural Homes.

We all know times are a little challenging financially at the moment, so Stafford and Rural opted to celebrate their fifth anniversary by continuing to make a difference to their customers, neighbourhoods and communities.

Un-phased by the (ridiculously) early start, we hopped on the train to get to Staffs and joined 150 staff members and partner organisations for an 08.00 rendezvous, a sausage barm and a steaming hot cup of tea. A perfect start to what would turn out to be a hard but extremely fulfilling day.

Splitting into multi-skilled teams (lots, some and none in our case) the various vans and cars scooted off across the borough to start the raft of renovation challenges we’d been set for the day … refurbishing garage doors, public benches and transforming an eco-garden at a local school.

T’was a tad chilly and we needed lots of layers of clothes but we were blessed with clear skies and intervals of sunshine during the sanding, undercoating and glossing of the 196 garages and the mid-afternoon litter picking.

So 14 hours after we crawled out of our beds, four tired, sleepy members of the team graced their respective trains to Liverpool and Wigan … and back home to bed.

On a more reflective note we thoroughly enjoyed the day, got covered in paint, met some really lovely people, got some fresh air and made our own (small) contribution towards putting some smiles on faces.

Bring on the next one.
